About the Role: The Principal UI Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the technical direction of TP ICAP's flagship Fusion platform. This position requires an individual who is not only an authority on engineering standards and best practices but also passionate about software development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight for the analysis and design of assigned projects.
  • Design, develop, test, and manage production software solutions, including complex systems and modifications to existing applications.
  • Utilize preferred planning tools (e.g., JIRA) to track deliveries, identify issues, and assist with roadmap and iteration planning.
  • Ensure the team adheres to a well-defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) that meets planning and delivery requirements.
  • Support the team in defining project scope and guiding work estimation based on prior experience.
  • Lead the software team in delivering high-quality and innovative software solutions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth through code reviews and supportive coaching.

Change, Risk, and Issue Management:

  • Guide the team in identifying and escalating risks as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to provide time and resource estimates, identify potential risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in prioritizing software defects and enhancements.
  • Effectively manage risks and issues with timely escalation to relevant stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience with HTML5, React 16/17+, Typescript 4/5+, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with UI libraries such as Material UI or Ant Design.
  • Proficiency in CSS pre-processors like SASS and LESS.
  • Experience with testing frameworks and code quality tools such as Sonarqube.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Experience with NX/Turbo repo or similar monorepo approaches, and Node.js.
