About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Public Health Officer to join our Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities Team at Essex County Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and driving work across the Health and Wellbeing Partnerships in the county, focusing on key health risk factors such as smoking, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities and contribute to the achievement of our Business Plan goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement projects to address key health risk factors and improve health outcomes
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS partners, to ensure effective collaboration and delivery
  • Build and maintain strong networks and relationships within the political environment
  • Manage and deliver projects successfully, demonstrating breadth of thinking and influencing partners
Requirements
  • Education to degree level and/or relevant professional qualification
  • Subject matter expertise in public health or a related service
  • Proven track record of building strong networks and influencing partners
