We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Public Health Specialist to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our Wellbeing, Public Health, and Communities Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our county's future and driving positive change.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on healthy weight project delivery and support the delivery of other projects and programmes.
- Support and lead commissioning and procurement processes for healthy weight work.
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders across various settings to develop and deliver work for both places and people.
- Develop personal and professional influence to focus collective work on impactful initiatives.
- Support monitoring and reporting of activity towards achieving healthy weight strategy outcomes.
- Support the development of necessary infrastructure, capability, and capacity at county and local levels to deliver the healthy weight strategy.
- Educated to degree level and/or relevant professional qualification.
- Specialist knowledge of the obesity/healthy weight agenda is advantageous but not essential.
- Proven track record of delivering outcomes.
- Ability to communicate clearly and inspire stakeholders.
- Ability to work across multiple strands of work and balance time effectively.
- Ability to understand and use evidence-based insights to shape and influence stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience of commissioning cycles, project life cycles, and related activities in a commissioning environment.
- Experience of delivering public services and managing change in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience of working in political environments and effectively collaborating with members and senior officers.
