Senior Public Health Specialist

Essex County Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Specialist to join our Wellbeing, Public Health and Communities team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in improving and enhancing the work we do with the NHS and other key partners in the five Health and Wellbeing Partnerships across the County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and driving work across the Alliance area to address six key health risk factors, including smoking, high blood pressure, high blood glucose, high BMI, high cholesterol, and alcohol use.
- Increasing uptake of smoking cessation services and reducing smoking rates, as well as promoting physical activity, healthy diet, and reduced alcohol consumption.
- Working with the relevant Alliance and associated partners to ensure a focus on these risk factors within primary care and other delivery settings.
Requirements:
- Education to degree level and/or appropriate professional qualification relevant to the field or equivalent by experience, with subject matter expertise in public health or a related service.
- Demonstrable evidence of building strong networks within a political environment, working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, influencing partners, and managing change within a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering projects successfully, demonstrating breadth of thinking.
