Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Wellbeing, Public Health, and Communities Team at Essex County Council. As a Senior Public Health Strategist, you will play a key role in formulating strategic public health plans and developing, implementing, and evaluating public health/health promotion programmes to meet identified needs and priorities.
About the Role
This is a fixed-term opportunity for 23 months, and you will be seconded into Mid and South Essex Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT). You will jointly report to an ECC Consultant in Public Health and MSEFT Director of Strategy and Innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation of strategic public health plans supporting the work of MSEFT.
- Identify, develop, implement, and evaluate public health/health promotion programmes to meet identified needs and priorities.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS colleagues, to achieve ambitious goals.
- Bring a proven track record of managing and delivering projects successfully, with breadth of thinking and subject matter expertise in public health or a related service.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level and/or appropriate professional qualification relevant to the field or equivalent by experience.
- Demonstrable evidence of building strong networks within a political environment, working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, influencing partners, and managing change within a multi-stakeholder environment.
