About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Michael Page Finance as a Finance Business Partner, working closely with the Property team to drive financial growth and efficiency in a fast-paced hospitality company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and drive cost efficiencies.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the Property team to develop and manage annual capex budgets, including financial analysis and reforecasting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement new operational processes to ensure a rigorous review of capex costs, compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Business Partnership: Provide business partner support to the Property team, developing an awareness of the end-to-end Property process and challenging existing assumptions.
  • Cost Management: Proactively apply new site build learnings to subsequent SAR budget processes, driving accuracy and improving the investment appraisal process.
  • Project Management: Ensure ongoing build projects and associated budgets are sufficiently reviewed and tracked, with completed projects closed off and capitalized in a timely manner.
  • Financial Analysis: Review monthly actual expenditures vs budget, identifying and challenging overspend in a timely manner.
  • Contract Review: Assist in reviewing and challenging contracts and contract reviews, ensuring the correct accounting policy is applied.
  • Cost Savings: Support the Finance Director in reviewing and challenging property-related pre-opening costs and capex maintenance costs, implementing policies and reporting to drive cost efficiencies and clarity on spend.
  • Cost Optimization: Support the property team in identifying cost-saving opportunities through review of subcontractor costs and quotes.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Commercial Awareness: Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in property business, or other retail or hospitality experience preferable.
  • Management Experience: Management experience preferable.
  • Accounting Experience: Strong all-round management accounting experience.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Exposure to service charges and property-related accounting and finance.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and able to partner with the Property Director, CFO, and 3rd-party contractors and suppliers.
  • Personal Qualities: Huge levels of personal drive and curiosity to pull insight and drive change from a finance perspective.
