Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom North East & North Cumbria ICB Full time

Position Overview

Are you adept at managing and synchronizing initiatives across multiple stakeholders, both within and outside the healthcare sector, to achieve desired results? This position offers you the opportunity to significantly contribute to the response of the Northern Cancer Alliance (NCA) to various health policies, ensuring early cancer detection and enhancing patient outcomes through the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The Northern Cancer Alliance is seeking a full-time, permanent Project Coordinator to assist in driving transformation within cancer services. In this role, you will collaborate with partners to design and enhance services, focusing on:

  • Overseeing and coordinating a diverse array of cancer pathways and related complex projects, requiring innovative solutions and new implementation strategies.
  • Supporting clinically led Pathway Groups to tackle treatment disparities through the application of specialty audits, findings from 'Get It Right First Time' initiatives, and the execution of Best Practice Timed Pathways. Additionally, you will work towards improving the speed of cancer diagnostics across primary, secondary, and community services.
  • Maintaining a strong delivery focus within the broader project team, which operates across various organizations within the Cancer Alliance.

About the Organization

This role is primarily remote, with occasional site visits as necessary. The expectation is for flexible working arrangements between home and office. You will be part of a dynamic team, including clinical leaders from both primary and secondary care, dedicated to executing the long-term cancer strategy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating substantial experience in navigating politically sensitive environments while being an effective organizer, influencer, and networker.
  • Exhibiting a solid understanding of successful project management principles and frameworks.
  • Illustrating how your contributions can assist clinicians, frontline staff, charities, and volunteers in achieving improved patient outcomes.
  • Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the key strategic issues surrounding cancer care.

Application Process

The Northern Cancer Alliance is committed to public involvement and recognizes the interdependence of patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience in cancer care. The Alliance is dedicated to integrating all stakeholders in cancer services and aims to deliver continuous improvements in patient experience while reducing access inequalities.

Join us in our mission to transform cancer services and improve outcomes for patients across the North East and North Cumbria.
