Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom North East & North Cumbria ICB Full time

Position Overview

Role Summary

Are you adept at managing and synchronizing initiatives across multiple stakeholders within and beyond the healthcare sector to achieve desired results?

The North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Personalised Care Team. In this role, you will facilitate the Cancer Alliance's mission of driving transformation through effective planning, commissioning, and execution of cancer service delivery.

Your collaboration will extend to various partners, with a particular emphasis on:

- Overseeing and coordinating the Personalised Care initiatives for the Cancer Alliance, particularly focusing on the execution of the annual strategy, which includes innovative projects in prehabilitation and psychosocial support.

- Elevating the profile of Personalised Care through newsletters, events, and briefings to the ICB's Pathway Groups.

- Ensuring that the delivery focus is upheld by the broader project team, which presents a challenge as team members are situated in different organizations across the Cancer Alliance region.

The primary location for this role is flexible, covering the North East and North Cumbria, with a hybrid working model currently in place. Most of your time will be spent working remotely, with occasional site visits as necessary. Future arrangements will continue to support flexible working between home and office.

  • Exhibiting substantial experience in navigating politically sensitive environments while being an effective organizer, influencer, and networker.
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management.
  • Supporting clinicians, frontline staff, charities, and volunteers in delivering improved outcomes for patients.
  • Exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of the key strategic issues related to cancer care.

This position offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the ICB's response to national, local, and regional policies, ensuring earlier cancer diagnoses, improved outcomes for patients, and the delivery of high-quality patient experiences throughout the treatment continuum.

About the Organization

The ICB is dedicated to ensuring that high-quality and safe health services are accessible to all communities. It encompasses a broad range of functions, including promoting the integration of health and care services, enhancing public health and wellbeing, and addressing health disparities.

With a substantial budget and a workforce dedicated to serving millions across the North East and North Cumbria, the ICB collaborates with local health and wellbeing boards and primary care networks to achieve shared objectives.

The ICB also hosts the Northern Cancer Alliance, which is integral to this role. The Northern Cancer Alliance collaborates with various stakeholders in cancer services, adopting a comprehensive approach to address the ambitions outlined in the Long-Term Plan for Cancer.
