Job Overview

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Ophthalmology Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Ophthalmology Department, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of Paediatric Ophthalmology services, including ROP screening and general Ophthalmology care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist Paediatric and Adult Strabismus services, utilizing your expertise in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the teaching and training of junior staff and undergraduates, sharing your knowledge and expertise to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new clinical services and initiatives, driving innovation and excellence in Paediatric Ophthalmology care.

Requirements
  • MB, BS or equivalent GMC registrable qualifications.
  • General training in Ophthalmology to CCT/CESR level.
  • Registration on GMC Specialist Register in Ophthalmology or within six months of achieving CCT at the time of interview.
  • Recognised Higher degree/Fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology/Adult Strabismus.
