Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Essential Recruitment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and efficiency in our production operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage allocated projects through a structured process, from concept to production handover.
  • Lead the design and development of manufacturing processes, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and time scale targets.
  • Provide technical guidance to the business and flow-down project requirements to suppliers.
  • Selection and procurement of production tooling and equipment to support manufacturing processes.
  • Support process validation for new and existing manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Creation of new and amendment of existing product Routings & BOMs in our ERP system.
  • Preparation of Work Instructions / Standard Operating Procedures and provide technical support to production departments.
  • Support the Quality department in the PPAP & FAIR processes and Quality / Non-conformance investigations.
Requirements:
  • Holds a Degree, HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (preferably Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering) or equivalent experience in a similar / relevant role.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within the Aerospace or an equivalent highly regulated sector.
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and experience/knowledge of CNC Milling / Turning, Conventional Machining, Fusion Welding, Fabrication, and Assembly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent organisational/planning skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical data and specifications.
  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Use of PFMEA / Control Plan tools & risk management techniques.
  • Experience using CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).
