Manufacturing Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• To adhere to Company Policies and Procedures including Health and Safety
• Manage allocated projects through a structured, gated process from the concept/quotation stage, right to production handover
• Lead the Manufacturing Process design and development for new and existing products, with the priority being on cost reduction, quality improvement and time scale targets
• Technical decisions/guidance to the business and flow-down projects requirements to Suppliers. These include (but are not limited to); tool and fixture manufacturing designs, machining requirements, drawings, CAD models and Condition of Supply requirements
• Selection / procurement of production tooling and equipment to support manufacturing processes
• Support process validation for new/existing manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements
• Creation of new and amendment of existing product Routings & BOM's in the company's ERP system
• Preparation of Work Instructions / Standard Operating Procedures and provide technical support to production
departments when necessary
• Support the Quality department in the PPAP & FAIR processes as well as Quality / Non-conformance investigations (when required)
• At all times, ensure that manufacturing processes meet customer specific requirements, standards & specifications
• Engage with the appropriate personnel in the identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Safety, Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues
Manufacturing Engineer Experience and Skills:
• Holds a Degree, HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (preferably Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering) or equivalent experience in a similar / relevant role
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within the Aerospace or an equivalent highly regulated sector
• Able to demonstrate an excellent record of successful project planning and execution
• High level of analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
• Experience / knowledge of CNC Milling / Turning, Conventional Machining, Fusion Welding, Fabrication and Assembly
• Strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and with customers and suppliers
• Excellent organisational /planning skills with the ability to multitask
• Ability to understand and communicate technical data and specifications
• Interpretation of drawings, GD&T, technical specifications and product control documentation
• Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite
• Use of PFMEA /Control Plan tools & risk management techniques
• Experience using CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
• Commercial awareness
