Retail Security Specialist

Position Overview
The Retail Security Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe shopping environment at Giant Eagle. This position involves monitoring store activities to prevent theft and ensure the safety of customers and employees.
Qualifications
- Experience Required: 0 to 1 year in a relevant field.
- Experience Desired: Background in retail grocery settings, law enforcement, or security.
- Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Lifting Requirement: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel Required: Regional travel on a daily basis, less than 10%.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and apprehend individuals engaged in shoplifting using visual monitoring techniques and surveillance systems.
- Utilize video surveillance to document incidents as requested by law enforcement and internal teams.
- Address and report any issues with surveillance equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide necessary testimony in legal proceedings as required.
- Notify the designated loss prevention representative of any potential internal integrity concerns.
- Engage effectively with customers and law enforcement personnel.
- Carry out additional security and loss prevention tasks to foster a secure environment for all.
- Prioritize safety for team members, customers, and merchandise at all times.
