About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Community Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in their own homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide and oversee the management and care of service users, ensuring that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop care plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each service user.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, therapists, and social workers, to ensure that service users receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Provide education and support to service users and their families, helping them to understand their mental health conditions and develop the skills and strategies they need to manage their symptoms.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote best practice in community mental health care.

Requirements

  • Post-qualification experience in community mental health nursing.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Mental Health Act and the Care Act.
