About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Medical Microbiologist/Consultant in Infectious Diseases to join our team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for leading undergraduate teaching at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, on behalf of the Department of Microbiology, Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA).

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical microbiology, infectious disease, and infection control, with experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be able to communicate effectively and present complex information to various audiences. A commitment to developing an appropriate specialist interest is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead undergraduate teaching at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia
  • Contribute to the development of clinical microbiology, infectious disease, and infection control services
  • Participate in a single rota for out-of-hours cover across Norfolk
  • Be offered an honorary academic appointment with the University of East Anglia

Person Specification

  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice
  • FRCPath or Equivalent with Specialist registration
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Participation in recognized CPD and appraisal
