AWS Platform Engineer (DevOps) Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer (DevOps) to join our growing cloud infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive CI/CD: Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, and other tools.
  • AWS Architecture: Build and maintain scalable, cost-effective, and secure AWS-based infrastructure (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.).
  • Implement security best practices, including WAF, Network Firewall, IAM, VPC, and data encryption, ensuring compliance and security standards.
  • Monitor & Optimise: Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch including Synthetic monitoring) to ensure peak performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with development, DevOps, and IT teams to deliver a platform and cloud solutions that meet their needs.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and other production issues.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in AWS Public Cloud development and implementation, particularly in automation and serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
  • Proven experience in developing/coding in a production environment with efficient and scalable code/automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) and familiarity with code versioning tools.
  • Fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL, and continual service improvement.
  • Experience within the financial industry, including knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
  • AWS Certification preferred (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar).
