Tech. Are you our new AWS Platform Engineer (DevOps)?

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer (DevOps) with strong DevOps experience to join our growing cloud infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud environments. As the successful candidate, you will be operating in a compliant multi-account cloud environment building packaged, reusable cloud products. You will be adept at thinking creatively to devise workarounds prior to formal problem analysis. Drive CI/CD: Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, and other tools.

AWS Architecture: Build and maintain scalable, cost-effective, and secure AWS-based infrastructure (VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.).

Implement security best practices, including WAF, Network Firewall, IAM, VPC, and data encryption, ensuring compliance and security standards.

Monitor & Optimise: Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch including Synthetic monitoring (canaries)) to ensure peak performance and cost-efficiency.

Collaborate: Work closely with development, DevOps, and IT teams to deliver a platform and cloud solutions that meet their needs.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and other production issues.

Strong experience in AWS Public Cloud development and implementation, particularly in automation and serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
Proven experience in developing/coding in a production environment with efficient and scalable code/automation.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) and familiarity with code versioning tools.
Fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL, and continual service improvement.
Experience within the financial industry, including knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., AWS Certification preferred (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar).
A passion for programming, automation, and exploring new ideas for streamlining development processes.
