Bariatric Dietitian Specialist

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a highly skilled Bariatric Dietitian to join our team at University Hospital Ayr. As a key member of the Bariatric Surgery Team, you will play a vital role in providing a comprehensive service to patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with the specialist nurse to provide a service to the community pre- and post-surgery in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Deliver a preparatory programme pre-surgery as part of the multidisciplinary team to groups of people referred for this treatment.
- Supervise, mentor, and educate junior colleagues and students during practice placements and other members of the multi-professional team.
- Honours degree or postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
- Working knowledge and understanding of the HCPC Standards of proficiency for Dietitians/standards of conduct, performance, and ethics.
- MSc relevant to specialist field or equivalent.
- Dietetic experience of bariatric surgery and management of a highly complex caseload essential.
- Working knowledge of dietary management of people with Tier 4 weight management in all treatment modalities, experience essential.
Up to 37 hours per week. Fixed term until October 2025. UK driving licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
