Dietitian - Paediatric

**The Role**

We are looking to recruit a Dietitian to join the Dietetic Team at University Hospital Wishaw

The post holder will also act as a source of expertise on nutritional therapy to patients, general public, other health care professionals including medical staff and GPs.

**This is a training post for a Paediatric Dietitian. Paediatrics is a speciality with complexities that usually requires a minimum of band 6 experience. However, with mentorship and a having developed a structured development program we can employ a band 5 with initially less experience.**

**This will allow us to develop the future of Paediatric dietetics in a difficult staffing climate.**

**What we'll need you to bring**
- Registered Dietitian with valid HCPC Registration
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology

**It would be great if you also have**:

- Degree or post graduate diploma in Dietetics.
- Evidence of further training/CPD in dietetic practice
- Experience of training other staff groups on nutrition
- Evidence of involvement in projects/clinical effectiveness work
- Interest and/or experience in student training
- Evidence of working or clinical placement within an Acute hospital setting
- Good knowledge of up-to-date dietetic practice
- Knowledge of audit, standard development and supporting change in practice with teams
- Knowledge of specialist dietetic interventions relevant to post
- Ability to use initiative
- Ability to prioritise caseload/work
- Flexible, motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinkin
- Skills in group work
- Networking skills
