About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Bariatric Surgery Team, covering the maternity leave of our current postholder. As a Bariatric Dietitian, you will work closely with our specialist nurse to provide a comprehensive service to patients pre- and post-surgery in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a preparatory program pre-surgery as part of the multidisciplinary team to groups of patients referred for this treatment.
- Work collaboratively with the specialist nurse to provide a safe, caring, and respectful service to patients.
- Supervise, mentor, and educate junior colleagues and students during practice placements and other members of the multi-professional team.
Requirements
- Honours degree or postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
- Working knowledge and understanding of the HCPC Standards of proficiency for Dietitians/standards of conduct, performance, and ethics.
- MSc relevant to specialist field or equivalent.
- Dietetic experience of Bariatric surgery and management of a highly complex caseload essential.
- Working knowledge of dietary management of people with Tier 4 weight management in all treatment modalities, experience essential.
