Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Reception and Administration Assistant to join our Staff Bank. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical reception team, ensuring that patients receive excellent care and service. You will work closely with our healthcare professionals to provide a seamless and efficient service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the medical reception team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing patient records.
  • Process and prioritize appointment requests from patients, ensuring that they receive timely and efficient service.
  • Register new patients and update patient records as necessary.
  • Manage internal and external post, including sorting and distributing mail and packages.
  • Provide clerical assistance, including word processing, data entry, and filing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the reception area and consulting rooms.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

  • GCSE maths and English grade C/4 or above.
  • NVQ Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualification in medical terminology.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience working in general practice.
  • Previous experience using SystmOne or EMIS.
