Position Overview
This position involves overseeing the effective execution of a groundbreaking research initiative titled: "Innovative Service Models for Adult Palliative and End-of-Life Care for Individuals with Learning Disabilities (DAPPLE)." This is a complex National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) study comprising multiple work packages, which includes conducting fieldwork at various research locations throughout England. The research team is composed of experts from Kingston University, Open University, University of Leicester, and LOROS Hospice. Additionally, the project engages a variety of stakeholders, including policymakers, professional organizations, family caregivers, and advocacy groups. An Advisory Group and Study Steering Committee provide essential support for the study. The individual in this role will play a pivotal part in coordinating the research efforts and fulfilling administrative obligations.
The successful candidate will serve as a primary contact for research sites, project teams, and regulatory bodies; manage inquiries, prepare reports, and provide updates for oversight organizations and the NIHR; and assist in the preparation and dissemination of research outcomes.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree in health services research, social sciences, psychology, sociology, nursing, or a related field; equivalent qualifications or experience will also be considered. A strong background in managing complex, multifaceted research projects is essential. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional organizational and written communication skills. A proactive approach, creativity, and the ability to tackle challenges effectively are crucial. Experience collaborating with diverse partners and the capacity to work efficiently under tight deadlines are advantageous.
