About the Role

This position is part of the people function within THG Ingenuity, focusing on our Fulfilment operations. Reporting to the Head of People – UK Fulfilment, this role will be supported by two direct reports: an HR Advisor and an HR Assistant.

The role will collaborate closely with site leadership and the broader People team to meet site objectives, taking full ownership of the HR function. Key responsibilities include advising and guiding managers, managing employee relations cases, overseeing performance evaluations and pay review processes, facilitating management development, enhancing employee engagement, driving organizational change, and leading project initiatives.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), primarily office-based, with occasional flexibility for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with the Site Leadership Team to ensure the achievement of all People objectives.
  • Serve as a coach and trusted advisor to managers on all People-related matters.
  • Work in partnership with the wider People team, including People Business Partners from other units, the Learning & Development team, and the Talent Manager, to ensure consistent execution of strategic targets and People practices across UK operations.
  • Coordinate with support teams, including Payroll, Time & Attendance, Shared Services, and People Data, to guarantee accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks.

Managerial Duties

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of two direct reports (HR Advisors & Assistants) in fulfilling their responsibilities and objectives.

Employee Relations

  • Oversee Employee Relations activities within your site.
  • Provide guidance to colleagues and managers on complex ER issues.
  • Manage all ER cases, including sickness, flexible working requests, performance management, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist the Head of People and Legal team in managing any Tribunal cases.
  • Handle cases related to welfare, occupational health, risk assessments, amended duties, and capability.
  • Administer parental leave processes on-site.

Performance Management and Compensation

  • Oversee the performance rating processes on-site and provide guidance to managers on the effective implementation of the performance ratings framework.
  • Support the Head of People in managing pay review, bonus, and promotion processes.

Engagement and Culture

  • Take ownership of all site-level engagement strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop an engagement calendar in collaboration with the wider People team and ensure the execution of agreed engagement events on-site.
  • Assist in creating and implementing an engagement survey, analyzing trends, and developing action plans.
  • Work with the Talent Manager on exit interview processes, including data analysis, trend identification, and action plan development.
  • Participate in communication forums and support action plans.

Learning and Development

  • Promote people management skill development for managers and colleagues on-site.
  • Collaborate with the L&D team to create and deliver HR training modules for the internal management team.
  • Partner with the L&D and Talent teams in talent identification, succession planning, and performance development processes.
  • Encourage a positive Diversity & Inclusion culture on-site.

Organizational Change

  • Manage and implement organizational change processes and projects.
  • Support the People data and wider People team in the successful implementation of new systems.

Data Analysis

  • Contribute to the KPI reporting process and communicate findings to the Site Leadership Team.
  • Conduct data analysis on People metrics, identify trends, and leverage insights to drive continuous improvement in People processes.

Site Responsibilities

  • Implement and promote People elements of the operational management system.
  • Develop, manage, and execute the on-site People Plan during peak operational periods.
  • Oversee People processes related to performance-based pay schemes.
  • Collaborate with other People Business Partners in the division to manage shared resources effectively.

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of HR experience.
  • Level 5 CIPD Qualification.
  • Experience advising Senior Managers and stakeholders on HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong technical skills and a solid understanding of current employment legislation.
  • Excellent relationship-building, listening, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in a Blue-collar setting is preferred.
