Role Overview:

We are seeking a German-speaking Energy Market Analyst to join our global Generation Fuels editorial team, focusing on the European electricity sector.

This position presents an exceptional opportunity for an analytical, inquisitive, and numerate journalist to gain expertise in a rapidly changing market as Europe aims for net-zero carbon emissions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to understand complex systems and will thrive in a role that merges data-driven analysis with traditional relationship-based reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate market trends to produce daily price assessments, market analyses, news articles, and reports.
  • Engage regularly with industry participants to maintain a comprehensive understanding of market developments through daily interactions with key figures.
  • Contribute high-quality, original content to reports and online news services, adhering to established style guidelines.
  • Assist in building and curating data sets that elucidate market dynamics.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and industry events to establish contacts, report on news, and represent Argus Media.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
  • Experience in business or data journalism, particularly within energy markets, is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated with the initiative to drive projects forward and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional writing and grammar skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, with a talent for networking and building relationships with industry executives.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
