Maintenance Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to oversee operations at Falmouth Harbour.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Our mission is to manage Falmouth Harbour with professionalism and responsibility, promoting sustainable development and ensuring the long-term prosperity of the harbour for its users and the broader community.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading our skilled Maintenance Team, ensuring that the harbour's infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include overseeing routine and preventative maintenance, operating maintenance vessels, and managing responses to emergencies and pollution incidents.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership

  • Supervise the Maintenance Team.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and training to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and assessments.

Asset Maintenance Oversight

  • Manage the winter maintenance and inspection of over 600 leisure moorings.
  • Oversee the summer upkeep of navigational aids, including buoys and beacons.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of the harbour's vessels and infrastructure.

Resource Management

  • Effectively allocate resources across various projects.
  • Plan and execute small to medium-scale marine projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

Safety Management

  • Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety regulations, Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC), and other relevant guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Demonstrated leadership and communication abilities.
  • Extensive experience in seafaring, preferably in the maintenance or commercial sector.
  • Knowledge of marine and land-based equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
