The Head of Learning and Engagement will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Diabetes UK by driving impactful learning and development strategies that foster organisational growth and resilience. As a strategic and operational leader, you will lead efforts to support and enable organisational change, empowering colleagues to thrive in their roles and ensuring the organisation meets its current needs while planning for the future.

As a member of the leadership team, you will collaborate closely with the Head of HR and other senior stakeholders to align people strategies with organisational objectives. You will oversee the team budget, monitor KPIs, and ensure alignment with our organisational needs and HR initiatives. Your leadership will be characterised by valuing diversity, prioritising inclusion, and driving high performance within your team.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of organisational development strategies aimed at fostering resilience, driving change, and achieving long-term goals. You will bring thought leadership in learning and development, delivering engaging and impactful L&D initiatives that support coaching, mentoring, and leadership capacity building.

A key focus will be to drive engagement through delivering initiatives and programs that boost colleague engagement and connection, reinforcing our values and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Requirements

We are seeking a proven leader with experience in leading organisational development (OD) initiatives, including change management and fostering a positive workplace culture. You will have strategic and operational leadership skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to deliver courses both in-person and online. Strong interpersonal, communication, and advanced coaching skills are essential, as is the ability to facilitate group learning and support leadership development.

We are looking for a creative, solution-focused leader with a track record of translating business needs into impactful learning interventions. In-depth knowledge of OD best practices, learning theories, and talent management, including blended learning in hybrid work environments, is also required. Resilient, collaborative leadership with experience in managing projects, influencing stakeholders, and driving high engagement and performance across teams is essential.
