Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced florist to join our team as a Team Leader. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading our team of florists, ensuring exceptional customer service and high-quality floral arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Floral Design and Arrangement
    • Create and arrange floral bouquets, wreaths, centrepieces, and other arrangements that meet our brand standards.
    • Stay updated on floral design trends and seasonal blooms to offer fresh and innovative designs.
  • Customer Service
    • Lead a culture of service, ensuring that customers' needs are met or exceeded.
    • Ensure that all orders are fulfilled in line with our service level agreements.
  • Shopkeeping
    • Ensure the shop is always clean and tidy, creatively merchandised, and with appropriate stock levels for the expected level of trade.
    • Ensure all stock is legally compliant and clearly priced.
    • Maintain stock in first-class condition.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain adequate inventory levels of horticulture and sundries to meet customer demand.
    • Monitor inventory turnover and manage stock rotation to ensure freshness and quality.
    • Keep accurate records of inventory levels, purchases, and sales transactions.
  • Team Management
    • Provide day-to-day leadership of the team.
    • Plan work schedules and assign tasks effectively to meet customer demand and productivity targets.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to develop staff skills and performance.
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Lead efficient working practices to maximize operational efficiency.
    • Identify ways to streamline processes while improving quality.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including health and safety, fire safety, and people policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a florist or floral designer, with leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of floral design techniques, flower varieties, and care procedures.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative flair and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

5 days rota over 7 days (inc. some weekends). Operational hours Mon-Sat 7.30am to 5.30pm, Sun 9.30am to 4.30pm
