Job Description

**Job Title:** Network Systems Engineer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Network Systems Engineer to join our team at Cheshire College - South & West. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our IT systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning effectively.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Maintain and Repair IT Systems:** Ensure that all IT systems and equipment are functioning effectively and efficiently, in accordance with agreed service standards.
  • **Install IT Equipment and Software:** Install and configure new IT equipment and software to meet user needs and requirements.
  • **Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues:** Identify and resolve persistent and potential problems with IT systems and equipment, and suggest and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
  • **Assist with Inventory Audits:** Assist with the inventory audits of equipment and software to ensure that all assets are accurately recorded and accounted for.
  • **Develop and Support Technology Infrastructure:** Assist in the development and technical support of our technology infrastructure for both voice and data, ensuring that it is current and relevant to local, regional, and national needs.
  • **Promote Welfare of Children and Young People:** Promote the welfare of children and young people, ensuring that our IT systems and equipment are used in a way that supports their well-being and safety.

**Person Specification Requirements:**

  • **GCSE Grade C (4/5) or Above in English and Maths:** Hold a GCSE grade C (4/5) or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • **Understanding of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion:** Have a good understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in work and the learning environment.
  • **Excellent Organisational Skills:** Possess excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • **Appropriate Level of Digital Literacy:** Have an appropriate level of digital literacy, with experience of using IT systems and equipment to support learning and teaching.
