Band 4 Paramedic Re-Entry Support Specialist
Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) NHS Trust stands as a premier provider of community health services across the United Kingdom, encompassing multiple boroughs and regions with a dedicated team of over 900
Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) spanning various disciplines including Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Orthoptics, Paramedicine, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, and Speech and Language Therapy.

CLCH is committed to offering comprehensive support to refresh your skills and knowledge, enabling you to re-enter the workforce as a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Paramedic.
Throughout your re-entry period, you will be employed as a Band 4 Paramedic Support Specialist, with the potential for a permanent registered practitioner position upon successful completion of the program.
The duration of the re-entry process may vary from one to three months, depending on your time away from practice.

Key Responsibilities
CLCH offers the following to Paramedic returnees:
- A financial support package of £800 from NHS England to assist with childcare, educational, and travel expenses.
- Employment as a Band 4 Paramedic Support Specialist while engaging in supervised practice.
- Comprehensive assistance to refresh your skills and knowledge for re-registration with HCPC.
- Coverage of HCPC registration fees upon successful completion of the program.
- A permanent position as a registered Paramedic within one of our supportive teams.
- Enhanced Preceptorship and Practice Development support, including a thorough induction, educational resources, and training programs.

The Return to Practice initiative is available for all HCPC registrants who have been inactive for two or more years, or for those who did not register within five years of their qualification. The HCPC outlines the following requirements:

Job Responsibilities
a. Utilize clinical reasoning, analytical skills, assessment, and re-assessment techniques, along with a patient-centered goal-setting approach, to deliver therapeutic treatment programs under the guidance of a Registered Paramedic.
b. Manage a clinical caseload, adhering to established therapeutic treatment objectives, and assist the Registered Paramedic in executing individualized treatment plans.
c. Provide therapeutic interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the defined scope of practice established by a Registered Paramedic.
d. Plan, deliver, and implement an effective and competent therapy program under the supervision of a Registered Paramedic.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
- Recognized degree in Paramedicine with HCPC registration.
Desirable
- Completion of short courses related to the development of physical skills or child-related medical conditions.
Experience
Essential
- Prior experience as a Clinical Paramedic, particularly in working with physical challenges.
- Experience collaborating with parents and caregivers.
- Background in a healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in documentation and administrative tasks.
Desirable
- Familiarity with databases and Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with electronic patient record systems such as SystmOne, RIO, or EMIS.
