Position Overview

The Music Market, a leading record label renowned for its focus on copyright-free music, is in search of a skilled A&R Manager to lead the A&R division. This role provides the flexibility of working from home on designated days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the A&R team and their initiatives.
  • Implementing a strategic approach to artist signings in collaboration with the Head of Music.
  • Spotting and cultivating both emerging and established musical talents.
  • Building and maintaining a robust roster of artists.
  • Managing the budget allocated for new music acquisitions.
  • Negotiating significant agreements for new artist signings and existing artist contracts.
  • Collaborating with the marketing department to set priorities.
  • Establishing clear expectations with artists and ensuring effective communication.
  • Keeping abreast of market trends and understanding the target audience.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in artist scouting and recruitment.
  • A well-established network of high-profile artists, songwriters, and producers.
  • Extensive experience within a music company, record label, management firm, or music publishing house.
  • In-depth knowledge of the music industry, competitive landscape, and the label's specific genre.
  • Understanding of music rights, recording, publishing agreements, and copyright laws.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with artists, songwriters, legal representatives, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution in a professional context.
  • Capable of working independently while effectively managing workload.
  • Adept at meeting deadlines in high-pressure situations.
