Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our client's team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling the sales and purchase ledgers, preparing monthly management accounts, and providing financial analysis and support to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger, including coding and posting invoices and debtor credit control.
  • Maintain and reconcile the purchase ledger, coding, authorizing, and posting invoices, and managing supplier payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI reporting.
  • Prepare balance sheet journals.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Manage stock levels and perform monthly stock checks.
  • Process employee expenses, including business credit card statements.
  • Support logistics, including deliveries, customer communication, and scheduling jobs.
  • Perform ad-hoc project and cost analysis, such as the implementation of an ERP system.

Requirements

  • IAT qualified or equivalent, with a desire to progress and develop in the role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Organized, detail-conscious, and able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems and work well under pressure.
  • Friendly, professional, and analytical.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen and articulate effectively.
  • High level of IT literacy, with good working knowledge of Accounts software, preferably Sage, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Working Hours

38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (8:30am to 5pm), and Friday (8:30am to 3pm).
