The Opportunity: Lead Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Learning Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people by providing individualized support and guidance within a stimulating learning environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with parents, ensuring open communication and collaboration regarding student progress.
  • Conduct comprehensive Education, Health and Care Plan reviews, analyzing student needs and developing tailored support strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of learning support interventions for students with diverse learning challenges, making adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.
  • Create and implement individualized learning plans, setting clear goals and objectives aligned with each student's unique strengths and areas for growth.
  • Provide direct classroom support, assisting students with comprehension, task completion, and fostering a positive learning experience.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and management to ensure seamless integration of learning support strategies within the curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain robust learning support systems and procedures, promoting consistency and best practices across the college.
  • Champion a culture of well-being within the college community, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Contribute to college events and initiatives, demonstrating your commitment to the overall success of the institution.

Your Qualifications:

  • GCSE Level 4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • A solid educational background with a passion for supporting student learning.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
