Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment through the analysis of risks, development of controls and procedures, and implementation and monitoring of compliance in a SOX environment.
  • Foster standardization and consistency across business processes and implement and maintain our internal control framework.
  • Support the Director of Internal Control & SOX Compliance with managing the SOX processes.
  • Compile and issue reports detailing conclusions and providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Lead the process for internal controls reviews across the group, responsible for scoping, preparation, risk analysis, and third-party service organization analysis.
  • Guide the respective parts of the organization in describing their processes in narratives and flowcharts in detail.
  • Work on design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and monitoring of the internal control framework, including group policies and key risks, to ensure that the group has adequate controls to prevent unintentional and intentional errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations.
  • Assess the adequacy and extent of programs designed to safeguard organization assets.
  • Design controls together with Control Owner, focusing on global harmonization where possible, and deploy the control to the entities.
  • Actively seek standardization and automation, apply and implement best practices for managing internal controls, and deploy innovative technology where possible to enhance and continuously improve the design and operating effectiveness of the controls, documentation, assessment, and review procedures.
  • Set the framework in SOX application for documentation of control evidences.
  • Organize and accompany walkthrough schedules for audits of internal controls; analyze feedback from auditors for improvements of narratives and flowcharts.
  • Direct and appraise the activities of audit and compliance personnel on process level.
  • Guide and support Control Owner during testing, quality reviews, and requested control documentation if necessary.
  • Deliver adequate and timely reporting on the internal control framework and control deficiencies to ensure appropriate communication and documentation to control and process owners.
  • Analyze deficiencies and support the Director of Internal Controls & SOX Compliance in deploying globally remediations in harmonized controls. Develop relevant trainings or guidelines for remediation.
  • Formulate policies and procedures to improve internal controls, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Deliver adequate and timely action plans and monitor progress to address and resolve control deficiencies.
  • Work collaboratively with business and process owners to implement and monitor remediation efforts that result from internal control assessments, ensuring the effective implementation of corrective action.
  • Serve as liaison for all external audit and regulatory agencies.
  • Actively engage with internal and external auditors to ensure consideration and resolution of all relevant risks and audit findings.
  • Recommend employee training and modifications to procedures as needed. Prepare and hold trainings for staff on internal controls and SOX.
  • Develop and conduct adequate training and prepare related information material on the internal control objectives, approach, and methodology to business partners on a regular basis to build knowledge and understanding of risks and control.
