Our client is a leading Design & Build Contractor primarily focused on the water sector.


They are actively seeking to fill multiple positions across the UK and are interested in engaging Civil Structures Engineers with backgrounds in either General Building or Civil Engineering.


We welcome applications from Graduates with a minimum of 2 years of experience up to those holding Chartered status.


Key Responsibilities:
• Development of structural design calculations for various aspects of Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment facilities, encompassing both new constructions and modifications to existing structures.
• Evaluation of structural elements within construction drawings/models.
• Assessment of subcontractor design proposals, ensuring all work is evaluated for buildability, standardization, and safety on-site in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Design of reinforced concrete and steel structures adhering to applicable Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Coordination and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team, including oversight of construction and site support.
• Adherence to established procedures and processes to foster ongoing development within the discipline.
• Resource management and accountability for project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
• Integration of designs with other disciplines and effective utilization of both internal and external resources.
• Provision of support to civil design personnel.
• Mentorship and development of junior staff members.
• Consideration of environmental factors in design processes.
• Contribution to the enhancement of processes and procedures.
• Collaborative work with our extended team based in India.

Essential Qualifications:
• Strong background in structural engineering design, particularly for Water Treatment and Sewage Treatment projects.
• Proven experience in structural engineering within the water sector, with a preference for a design and build environment.
• Proficient in structural analysis and familiar with design software such as StaadPro and Tekla TEDDS, as well as Microsoft Excel.
• Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• Membership in a relevant professional institution.
• Demonstrated experience in designing water-retaining structures to construction standards using Eurocodes.
• Solid understanding of CDM regulations and construction health and safety practices.
This position is primarily office-based but may involve occasional travel within the UK.

Desirable Attributes:
• Chartered status or nearing chartership.
• Experience with global organizations.
• Familiarity with remote or dispersed team collaboration.
• Ability to foster innovative and collaborative working environments.
• Knowledge of BIM methodologies and techniques.
• Broader experience in structural design across the construction sector.
• Experience in preliminary and tender structural design.
