About the Role

Morrison Energy Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Civil Design Engineer to join our design team in the UK.

As a key member of our Transmission Design Team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for all permanent and temporary works design support on contracts for NG, SSE, SPEN, and the full range of UK DNOs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To produce effective substation civil designs, including structural, geotechnical design services, foundation solutions, and temporary works.
  • To provide technical support to Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and clients.
  • To collaborate closely with the Design Delivery Manager - Substations, other Senior Design Engineers, and internal/external customers to ensure project, programme, and budgetary controls at all times.

Requirements:

  • Eng or BSc in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering, with honors; or HND plus relevant experience.
  • Sufficient experience in civil and structural substation design, with considerable knowledge of National Grid specifications, British Standards, and other UK TNO and DNO design standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector or similar.
  • Ability to self-learn the use of Civil or Structural engineering software.
  • Knowledge of 2D CAD software, preferably Autodesk products.
