Position Overview
As a Senior Forensic Nurse Specialist, you will be an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, conducting thorough assessments and gathering evidence that contribute to legal processes.
This role involves providing guidance to enhance service delivery, engaging in governance activities, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while supporting Nurture Health and Care.
Our specialists are essential in delivering exceptional care and maintaining evidential integrity for individuals affected by sexual violence, including both minors and adults.

Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive forensic assessments for individuals who have experienced sexual assault, with a keen attention to detail.
- Engage with clients in a sensitive manner, ensuring a trauma-informed approach to care that accommodates both self-referrals and referrals from law enforcement.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and data integrity in documentation and evidence management.
- Collaborate with clients to develop personalized management plans that address their unique needs.
- Provide expert testimony in legal settings, supporting the integrity of judicial proceedings.
- Participate in continuous professional development as part of our pathway from novice to expert.
- Lead initiatives, mentor colleagues, and engage in programs aimed at enhancing professional skills and service quality.
- Oversee scheduling to ensure compliance and accessibility of services.
- Contribute to clinical governance, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, infection control, and forensic integrity protocols.
- Assist in investigating incidents and complaints, implementing necessary action plans or recommendations.
- Conduct audits and participate in research initiatives to enhance service quality.
- Facilitate training and development for sexual offence examiners and the broader team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and peer reviews, managing the ongoing development of nursing staff.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Registered Nurses with a background or interest in forensic and legal medicine, possessing a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience.
