Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at Midlothian Council. As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will provide administrative support to our staff and ensure the smooth operation of our office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to staff, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing documents.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments.
- Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
- Highers in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a busy office environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
- HNC level qualification in a relevant field.
- Previous experience in an education setting or working with children and parents.
Working Conditions
- 30 hours per week.
- Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 15:45pm.
- Friday 8:30am to 12:45pm.
- 39 weeks per year.
Salary and Benefits
The minimum actual salary for this position is £19,338 per annum, based on working 30 hours over 39 weeks per year.
Regulated Work with Children
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children.
