Engineering Project Manager

Location: Stoke on Trent

Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, based on experience

Working Schedule: Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week

We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to become a vital part of our established Engineering team at Premier Foods, where we produce beloved baked goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a pipeline of viable projects, including feasibility assessments and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Lead the preparation of capital authority request documentation and narratives.
  • Engage with end users to define engineering scope effectively.
  • Create functional design specifications that align with engineering and company standards.
  • Select preferred suppliers through a rigorous selection process, ensuring appropriate contract application.
  • Oversee all health and safety aspects of capital projects, adhering to necessary regulations.
  • Report on project progress, tracking milestones, activities, priorities, and financials.
  • Ensure compliance with user acceptance test protocols at pre-delivery milestones.
  • Manage essential resources throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee post-delivery processes, including installation, commissioning, and training.

Qualifications Required:

  • An Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Food/FMCG sector.
  • Extensive experience in managing capital projects with a customer-centric approach.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., IEE 17th Edition, DSEAR).
  • Proven track record in successfully delivering engineering capital projects in FMCG, focusing on specification, integration, and implementation.
  • Proficient in CAD and MS Project.
  • Experience in control system and PLC design/specifications.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley control systems.
