We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at New Forest Care Ltd. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children who display challenging behaviour and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and autism.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a positive adult role model for the children, promoting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment, helping children develop self-esteem and personal strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the residential home, including cooking, cleaning, and finances.
- Engage with children, developing their interests and organising relevant activities to support their growth.
- Ensure the needs of the children are met, reviewing and recording changes to their needs.
- Fully supported to complete a funded Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare, building your professional development and meeting Ofsted requirements.
- Experience of supporting vulnerable children in a residential care environment is advantageous, although not essential.
- Compassionate, resilient, and committed to being a positive role model, with confidence in managing challenging behaviours.
- Flexible and able to work a residential care rota, including evening, weekends, and holiday periods.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
- High staff to child ratios and no agency staff.
- Comprehensive induction training.
- Regular in-house training for all staff to support their role.
- Funded professional qualifications - Diploma Level 3 for Residential Childcare for all Support Workers & DDP Level 1.
- Staff bonus after 2 years' service and subject to company performance.
