Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Clinical Procurement team. This role requires professional registration to leverage your expertise, knowledge, and skills in collaboration with healthcare practitioners.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Procurement and Supplies team, providing guidance on clinically relevant consumables. You will work closely with specialized groups within the healthcare facilities and engage with the commercial sector, including suppliers and their representatives. The primary objective is to recommend and implement clinical products that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with necessary changes.

This position is ideal for a proactive problem solver, an inquisitive individual, and a skilled communicator who can manage multiple priorities and interpret data to create a comprehensive overview.

Key Responsibilities

You will oversee a significant non-pay expenditure, ensuring strategies for product and supplier standardization to deliver value and improved services across procurement categories.

Reporting to the Clinical Procurement Advisor, your role will be crucial in bridging the gap between Clinicians and Procurement.

Your responsibilities will include enabling informed decision-making regarding clinical products, developing interdepartmental cost control initiatives, and implementing sustainable solutions.

You will manage the relationship between clinical and procurement functions, driving innovation in procurement practices and ensuring contract compliance to reduce costs and enhance patient care.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree-level clinical qualification.
  • Post-qualification experience across various disciplines.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles.
  • Post-registration qualifications.
  • Strong background in clinical care across specialties.
  • Familiarity with NHS Supply Chain and local purchasing practices.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work flexibly across sites and outside standard hours if necessary.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and use of spreadsheets.
  • A valid driving license is desirable.
