GSL Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated ASD Teacher to join our client secondary school in Ashington. As an ASD Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver tailored lessons to meet the unique needs of students with ASD.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work closely with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a secondary school setting.
- Strong understanding of ASD and how it affects learning and behaviour.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
