Salary: Between £25,480 - £26,520 based on 40 hours per week, plus £6183 based on 10 sleep ins per month. Total package between £31,663 and £32,703.

The children in our care may face social and emotional challenges stemming from Autism, ADHD, or past trauma. They require compassionate role models to help them thrive. Your involvement will be crucial in transforming their challenging days into positive experiences, allowing you to witness the profound impact of your support as they develop.

This position is based in our intimate two-bedroom residence in Bridgwater, providing you with the opportunity to build strong relationships with both the team and the children. The children require assistance around the clock, enabling you to complete your full work schedule in just 2-3 days, amounting to only 10 shifts per month.

Key Responsibilities of a Child Support Specialist:

  • Facilitate a high quality of life for children through various activities, including cooking, outings, and vacations. Your role may involve ensuring nutritious meals and organizing trips to local attractions.
  • Safeguard the well-being of the children and tailor their care plans to meet individual needs. You will be responsible for tracking their progress and maintaining accurate records, with comprehensive training provided.

Essential Qualities for Success:

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience – Understanding that the children may exhibit challenging behaviors due to their past experiences is vital.
  • Strong communication skills – Both verbal and written communication are essential, as you will interact with various stakeholders and update care plans regularly.
  • A valid driving license – The children enjoy community outings, and you will need to transport them as required. Vehicles will be provided.
  • Flexibility – The role requires overnight support, allowing you to fulfill your work commitments within a condensed schedule.
  • Willingness to obtain a qualification in residential childcare, which we will fund. This qualification is essential within your first two years in the role, and we will support you throughout the process.
