Position Overview
The Heart Centre at the University Hospital of North Midlands serves as a premier facility providing exceptional Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgical services. Our institution is dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare to a diverse population, and we are continuously expanding our innovative programs, including TAVI, Atrial Appendage Occlusion, and minimally invasive coronary artery bypass procedures.
Our facility features a 32-bedded pre and post-operative inpatient ward, with 8 beds designated for level 1 care, alongside a specialized pre-admission service. The Cardiothoracic Critical Care unit comprises 16 beds equipped for level 2 and level 3 care, offering both invasive and non-invasive treatments for patients requiring urgent and elective cardiothoracic surgical interventions. This role involves rotation between the Cardiothoracic Critical Care unit and the Cardiothoracic Ward, providing a comprehensive opportunity to acquire a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge, enabling care for patients across all levels of their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities
We are currently seeking dedicated Band 5 Staff Nurses or student nurses who are on track to qualify to join our dynamic team within the Heart Centre. In this role, you will serve as a credible and professional role model, fostering both personal and professional growth while striving to achieve your utmost potential. You will be instrumental in implementing and enhancing care standards that align with our commitment to excellence in patient care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the delivery of quality, safe, and patient-centered care within the Heart Centre.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across various wards and departments to facilitate efficient service delivery.
- Demonstrating enthusiasm, flexibility, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.
- Exhibiting strong communication skills and a high level of motivation.
