About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist to join our team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our integrated cardiac services, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anaesthetic care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures.

Main Responsibilities

As a Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist, you will be working closely with our team of 10 experienced anaesthetists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and cardiologists to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing anaesthetic care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures, including aorto-vascular work, mitral clip, minimal invasive cardiac bypass surgery, and TAVI.
  • Working closely with the cardiothoracic surgery team to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Contributing to the education and training of junior doctors and medical students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • FRCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Experience working as a Fellow or Advanced Trainee in CT Anaesthesia.
  • Independent TOE skills.
