About the Role

The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Radiologist Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will contribute to the provision of a high-quality radiology service, supporting our respiratory physicians, onco-haematologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, and clinical and medical oncologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service, providing both general and specialist services in diagnostics and interventional imaging.
  • Share responsibilities covering elements of Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging on a rota, including MDT cover on a Monday and attendance at the Respiratory Meeting on a Friday.
  • Contribute to the development of an area of special interest to fit in with current establishment and service needs.
  • Support the Clinical Director of Imaging and contribute to the department's on-going QSI accreditation.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Full Registration with the GMC.
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Completed full training in Radiology.
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems within speciality.
  • Good writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Ability to plan strategically and to exercise sound judgements when faced with conflicting pressures.
