About the Role

The Cardiothoracic Radiologist Consultant will be a key member of our team, providing expert radiology services to support our respiratory physicians, onco-haematologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, and clinical oncologists.

We are one of the top five largest cardiothoracic surgery centres in the UK, performing over 1500 surgical procedures per year, and one of the busiest Regional Major Trauma Centres in the UK.

The successful candidate will share responsibilities covering elements of Thoracic and Cardiac Imaging, attending MDTs and joint clinico-radiological conferences, and contributing to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service within our busy imaging department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the provision of a first-class service supporting respiratory physicians, onco-haematologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, and clinical oncologists.
  • Attend MDTs and joint clinico-radiological conferences to share responsibilities and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service within our busy imaging department, providing both general and specialist services in diagnostics and interventional imaging.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Fully registered with the GMC.
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
  • Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems within the speciality.
