Job Summary:
SuperCare Residential is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential care home.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to young people, including key working and daily living activities.
- Work in partnership with young people, their social workers, and other relevant agencies to ensure their needs are met.
- Coordinate, monitor, and review care plans for allocated young people, preparing them for transition to adulthood and greater independence.
- Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all residents.
- Perform administrative tasks and record-keeping associated with key working responsibilities and daily home operations.
- Empower young people to take responsibility for their lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, and involving them in planning their futures.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
- Attend to the daily needs of young people, including personal care and household responsibilities.
Household Responsibilities:
- Share in practical activities necessary to maintain the home, including cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
- Care for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment of the home.
- Be accountable for allocated funds and report any necessary repairs or maintenance.
Personal Qualities:
- Act as a positive role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in residential care, developing skills, knowledge, and experience through regular supervision and training.
- Report any malpractice or concerns to a line manager or designated authority.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children and young people in an Ofsted-regulated environment.
- Level 3 CYPW or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
- Enhanced DBS Check and update service.
- Ability to drive.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis.
