Job Summary:

As a Residential Children's Support Worker at SuperCare, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to vulnerable children and young people. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
  • Working in partnership with young people, their social workers, and carers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Coordinating, monitoring, and reviewing care plans for allocated young people preparing to transition to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Ensuring the upkeep of the establishment, maintaining health and safety standards, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Administrative work and record-keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Empowering young people to take responsibility for their lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, and involving them in planning their lives.
  • Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns and reporting them effectively.
  • Attending to the day-to-day needs of young people, including bathing, feeding, and cooking.

Household Responsibilities:

  • Sharing in the practical activities necessary to maintain the house.
  • Caring for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Being accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.
  • Reporting repairs and ensuring necessary actions are taken.

Personal:

  • Acting as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Keeping abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
  • Making use of regular professional supervision.
  • Reporting malpractice or evidence suggesting it to a line manager or other appropriate person.

Requirements:

  • Legally allowed to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 Diploma or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
  • Enhanced DBS Check and on the update service.
  • Ability to drive with a full and clean license.
  • Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of young people.
