Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety Engineer to join our team at & Security Systems Ltd. As a Fire Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and servicing of fire detection and alarm systems, life safety systems, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Undertake the installation and/or commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems, life safety systems, security systems, and associated systems, ensuring that the system meets the specified requirements for the works/project.
  • Customer Service: Effectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status, particularly system defects that affect its correct function.
  • Quality and Safety: Carry out all works in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner, in line with the Company's quality standards and health and safety practices, systems, and procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure legible and timely completion of all company paperwork in line with Company requirements and accurately complete all appropriate documentation.
  • Health and Safety: Has completed and fully complies with the necessary H & S training as required and fully understands and complies with the Company's health and safety procedures and Environmental policy.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: Has a sound knowledge of fire, life safety, and security control and field equipment and be able to carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, fault rectification, and repairs.
  • Manufacturers Training: Manufacturer trained for various fire, life safety, and security systems, ideally including Gent and Notifier.
  • Standards and Regulations: Conversant with the appropriate commissioning, servicing, and installation clauses within the relevant parts of BS5839, BS7671, Building Regulations, and any other relevant standards.
Competencies
  • Communication Skills: Deal with customers, end-users, construction personnel, and in-house staff in a professional manner.
  • Technical Skills: Able to operate all required test equipment and fully test every aspect of the installed system following manufacturers recommendations and the project specification.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate a logical and competent approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification.

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team at & Security Systems Ltd. The role will require flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the business and customers.
