This role requires extensive experience in executing large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, with a focus on using a staged gate/RIBA approach on brownfield sites. The successful candidate will work closely with other construction discipline leads, the Client, and their design partners to ensure the successful delivery of HVAC systems that meet the stringent requirements of the nuclear sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Leadership:

    • Collaborate closely with other construction discipline leads to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with other project components.
  • Project Execution:
    • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all HVAC construction activities, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
    • Implement and manage the HVAC construction process using a staged gate/RIBA approach, ensuring each phase meets the necessary criteria before progressing.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all HVAC construction activities comply with nuclear safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
    • Liaise with regulatory authorities and other external bodies as required to ensure compliance and secure necessary approvals.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with HVAC construction activities, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of HVAC construction professionals, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and technical excellence.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to perform their roles effectively.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure all HVAC construction activities meet or exceed industry standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections, tests, and audits to verify compliance with quality and safety requirements.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
    • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring that all HVAC construction activities prioritize the health and safety of personnel and the protection of the environment.
    • Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures, and lead incident investigations if required.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of HVAC construction activities, including progress reports, test results, and regulatory submissions.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management and project stakeholders on construction progress, key milestones, and any issues requiring resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC construction within the nuclear or energy sectors, with a proven track record in new build EPC projects, particularly on brownfield sites.

Skills:
