Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care Mental Health Service. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care and interventions to individuals with mild to moderate mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary community-based team to provide assessment, risk management, and delivery of psychological interventions.
  • Develop and implement strength-based recovery-focused approaches to treatment planning, involving patients as partners in their care.
  • Undertake duties without direct supervision and support and supervise work undertaken by others.
  • Proactively promote partnership working with patients, carers, and other professionals/agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards, and clinical policies.
  • Provide sessional input to GP practices within NHS Highland (North) and form an integral part of the provision of mental health care at Tier 1 level.
  • Display excellent clinical skills, leadership, facilitated learning, and service improvement skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Supervise the practice of others, monitor/undertake mentorship responsibilities, and support the team leader in the ongoing learning and development of the staff team.

Requirements:

  • BA, BSc, Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of experience in delivering psychological therapies.
  • Registration with an appropriate professional body.
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle.
